Wave Your Banner High
Rich Cruz
The definition of marketing by John Jantsch, the author of
"Duct Tape Marketing," is to find people with a problem and have them know, like, and trust you to solve their
problem. The primary focus of a business is to market--to amass your army of loyal customers and referral
sources. Have you considered the power of banners to help accomplish this?
In a previous article, I discusssed heraldic banners from as early as biblical times. We know through history that
banners were used to develop loyalty and to inspire the troops. As with the popular game, "Capture the Flag," which
we play every year in my son's Cub Scout Pack, when the flag (banner) is captured, the battle is lost.
America itself has a well-branded "Star Spangled Banner," our very revered and respected flag. The flag serves to
inspire the American Spirit and motivate our troops in battle. Our banner stands for what America is all bout!
Whether you have an outdoor banner, a retractable banner stand, or even a sign on the trusty steed you ride into
the office everyday, make sure that you wave your banner proudly to inspire that army of referral partners,
ambassadors, and clients.
